The Best Secret Intelligence Agencies in the World

Intelligence agencies in any country play a very important role. Every country has its own intelligence agency. These agencies work is purely secret. Nobody knows that how they work.
There has been many great movies like James Bond, Bourne Ultimatum and great tv shows like 24. They are all based on Intelligence agencies. Are there really agents like Jack bauer and Jason Bourne. Do they really exist?
So which agency is the best in the world? There are plenty of movies based on Intelligence Agencies?
Agencies operate in a shadowy world. The best agencies are the ones which attract no attention to themselves
Here is my Top 5:
Apologies in advance regards to the you tube videos. As most videos are based on the negative factors rather the positives. But as journalist and Media people would say Negative stories sells more and attracts more viewers. I mean who would want to watch a video of someone rescue a cat from a tree? Well no one apart from the owner of the cat.
Anyway...take two: Here is my Top 5:

5. GRU/SVR  - RUSSIA

When one thinks of Russian intelligence, they usually think of the KGB.
Back in the day KGB  was One of the most dreaded player in the game of spying. It lives on the principle of – It is not sufficient to know, it is necessary to react. But the KGB was disbanded by Boris Yeltsin in 1995 This was broken up after the collapse of communism Now there are two main agencies who influence the foreign affairs.
SVR is the official foreign-operations successor to many prior Soviet-era foreign intelligence agencies. Its domestic equivalent, the FSB

GRU is the country's main military intelligence and reconnaissance agency, and reports directly to the general staff of Russia's armed forces. The directorate is much bigger than the KGB .
GRU were purported to be behind the assassination of former Chechen President Zelimkhan Abdumuslimovich Yandarbiyev, who was living in Qatar in 2004 and was accused of having links to Al-Qaeda by Russia and the United Nations. The former president was assassinated when a bomb ripped through his SUV in the Qatari capital of Doha.

SVR sends to the Russian president daily digests of intelligence, similar to the President's Daily Brief produced by the Central Intelligence Agency in the US. However, unlike the CIA, the SVR recommends to the president which policy options are preferable.
SVR actively recruits Russian citizens who live in foreign countries. "Once the SVR officer targets a Russian émigré for recruitment, they approach them, usually at their place of residence and make an effort to reach an understanding," said former FSB officer Aleksander Litvinenko. "If he or she refuses, the intelligence officer then threatens the would-be recruit with legal prosecution in Russia, and if the person continues to refuse, the charges are fabricated". It was reported that SVR prey on successful Russian businessmen abroad.
Best movies based on KGB/FSB OR GRU: Yuri Nosenko (1986), Red Scorpion( 1989), Bond movies such as The Living Daylight, From Russia with Love and many more.

4. MI 6 - U.K

Number 4. No way, some pople would say. I am saying they are lucky they are not in sixth place like their name. They have been so much in news over the last year for finding bodies in gym bag.
If you like watching movies then you must be knowing James Bond and his fondness of sophisticated guns, attractive babes and Smirnoff. This british spy agency is popular for its notorious and daredevil agents with a clear understanding of what they are expected to achieve

MI6 or, as it is known formally, the Secret Intelligence Service, was created just prior to World War I primarily to keep a close eye on the activities of the Imperial German government. Since then, MI6 has been heavily engaged during the major conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. Even before the 9/11 attacks, MI6 actively collaborated with their American counterparts in order to share intelligence and carry out particularly dicey covert ops
On 9/11, only 30 of MI6s 1,600 agents were working on counterterrorism. Since then, the agency has been on an all-out recruitment blitz that includes previously unheard of measures, such as taking out ads in newspapers and allowing agents to grant interviews
Among the fun facts revealed: There really is a person called Q who designs gadgets, just like in the James Bond films, but M is actually called C. MI6 has also taken out ads in online spy-themed computer games such as Tom Clancys Splinter Cell

Best MI6 Movies : James Bond Movies, The Bank Job

3. CIA - USA

Again no chance only third place, they had to be number one. Everyone knows they are the daddy of all agencies. Sorry again. But everyone knows CIA, as they are mentioned in every movie possible. They can’t be that damn covert. We all know that they exist.

CIA is the largest of the intelligence agencies and is responsible for gathering data from other countries that could impact U.S. policy. Agency (CIA) has three stated functions: 1) Obtaining and analyzing information about foreigners; 2) Propaganda and public relations; and, 3) Covert operations at the direction of the president
Highly funded and technologically most advanced Intelligence set-up in the world.

Despite the funding It has failed to control terrorism activities including 9/11, Not even a single top level Al-Qaeda leader captured own its own in the past 9 years – ‘they missed 1 Million’ Soviet troops marching into Afghanistan’. Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction, Have the found them yet? You might get better answer by watching Greenzone movie starring Matt Damon.
But no one knows that what CIA really does
Best Movies based on CIA:  Syriana (2005), Body of Lies(2008),Bourne Movies (Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum) ,The Good Shepherd(2008) AND Greenzone (2010)

2. Mossad - ISRAEL

The Mossad known in full as the Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations is the national intelligence agency of Israel. “Mossad” is a Hebrew word for institute or institution

Its responsible for intelligence collection, counter-terrorism and various covert operations. Its director reports directly to the head of state, the Prime Minister. Mossad is a civilian service, and does not use military ranks, although most of its staff have served in the Israeli defense forces as part of the country's compulsory draft system. Mossad's most notorious wing is the "Special Operations Division" or "Metsada," as it's also known. The Metsada has been involved in several assassinations, paramilitary operations, sabotage, and psychological warfare.

Mossad Operation in Dubai – part 1

Israel’s intelligence agency is most famous for having taken out a number of PLO operatives in retaliation for the attack that killed eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich.

Also In 1960, the Mossad discovered that Adolf Eichmann, a notorious Nazi war criminal, was living in Argentina under the name of Ricardo Klement. He was captured by a team of Mossad agents and smuggled in to Israel where he was tried and executed

Mossad Operation in Dubai – part2

Movies based on Mossad: Munich (2005), You don’t mess with Zohan (2008) and Walk on Water (2004)

Mossad Operation in Dubai – part3

1 ISI - PAKISTAN

Suprised....ISI, who are? Well I mentioned in the beginning that the best agency doesn’t attract attention
With the lengthiest track record of success, the best know Intelligence so far on the scale of records is ISI.
No double agents, no agent ever caught on camera, the lowest budget but still affective.
In war with 6 big intelligence agencies of the world. ISI has even countered MOSSAD in the 1980s and late ‘90s when there was a plan of a possible strike on Pakistan’s nukes
KGB, the best of its time, failed to counter ISI and protect Soviet interests in Central Asia
It has protected its nuclear weapons since formed and it has foiled Indian attempts to attain ultimate supremacy in the South-Asian theatres through internal destabilization of India.
The Inter-Services Intelligence was Established in 1948 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. for safeguarding Pakistan’s interest, monitoring opposition politician and sustaining military rule in Pakistan, ISI is one of the very well organized intelligence agency in world. Apart from its outstanding structure it is controversial too and once it was termed as state within a state due to its cross-purpose policies
Its is believed to have one of the highest number of agents worldwide, close to 10,000. Only CIA have more.
Best movies based on ISI- None. Honestly could not find any. Apologies.
