The Best Secret Intelligence Agencies in the World

Intelligence agencies in any country play a very important role. Every country has its own intelligence agency. These agencies work is purely secret. Nobody knows that how they work.
There has been many great movies like James Bond, Bourne Ultimatum and great tv shows like 24. They are all based on Intelligence agencies. Are there really agents like Jack bauer and Jason Bourne. Do they really exist?
So which agency is the best in the world? There are plenty of movies based on Intelligence Agencies?
Agencies operate in a shadowy world. The best agencies are the ones which attract no attention to themselves
Here is my Top 5:
Apologies in advance regards to the you tube videos. As most videos are based on the negative factors rather the positives. But as journalist and Media people would say Negative stories sells more and attracts more viewers. I mean who would want to watch a video of someone rescue a cat from a tree? Well no one apart from the owner of the cat.
Anyway...take two: Here is my Top 5:

5. GRU/SVR  - RUSSIA

When one thinks of Russian intelligence, they usually think of the KGB.
Back in the day KGB  was One of the most dreaded player in the game of spying. It lives on the principle of – It is not sufficient to know, it is necessary to react. But the KGB was disbanded by Boris Yeltsin in 1995 This was broken up after the collapse of communism Now there are two main agencies who influence the foreign affairs.
SVR is the official foreign-operations successor to many prior Soviet-era foreign intelligence agencies. Its domestic equivalent, the FSB

GRU is the country's main military intelligence and reconnaissance agency, and reports directly to the general staff of Russia's armed forces. The directorate is much bigger than the KGB .
GRU were purported to be behind the assassination of former Chechen President Zelimkhan Abdumuslimovich Yandarbiyev, who was living in Qatar in 2004 and was accused of having links to Al-Qaeda by Russia and the United Nations. The former president was assassinated when a bomb ripped through his SUV in the Qatari capital of Doha.

SVR sends to the Russian president daily digests of intelligence, similar to the President's Daily Brief produced by the Central Intelligence Agency in the US. However, unlike the CIA, the SVR recommends to the president which policy options are preferable.
SVR actively recruits Russian citizens who live in foreign countries. "Once the SVR officer targets a Russian émigré for recruitment, they approach them, usually at their place of residence and make an effort to reach an understanding," said former FSB officer Aleksander Litvinenko. "If he or she refuses, the intelligence officer then threatens the would-be recruit with legal prosecution in Russia, and if the person continues to refuse, the charges are fabricated". It was reported that SVR prey on successful Russian businessmen abroad.
Best movies based on KGB/FSB OR GRU: Yuri Nosenko (1986), Red Scorpion( 1989), Bond movies such as The Living Daylight, From Russia with Love and many more.

4. MI 6 - U.K

Number 4. No way, some pople would say. I am saying they are lucky they are not in sixth place like their name. They have been so much in news over the last year for finding bodies in gym bag.
If you like watching movies then you must be knowing James Bond and his fondness of sophisticated guns, attractive babes and Smirnoff. This british spy agency is popular for its notorious and daredevil agents with a clear understanding of what they are expected to achieve

MI6 or, as it is known formally, the Secret Intelligence Service, was created just prior to World War I primarily to keep a close eye on the activities of the Imperial German government. Since then, MI6 has been heavily engaged during the major conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. Even before the 9/11 attacks, MI6 actively collaborated with their American counterparts in order to share intelligence and carry out particularly dicey covert ops
On 9/11, only 30 of MI6s 1,600 agents were working on counterterrorism. Since then, the agency has been on an all-out recruitment blitz that includes previously unheard of measures, such as taking out ads in newspapers and allowing agents to grant interviews
Among the fun facts revealed: There really is a person called Q who designs gadgets, just like in the James Bond films, but M is actually called C. MI6 has also taken out ads in online spy-themed computer games such as Tom Clancys Splinter Cell

Best MI6 Movies : James Bond Movies, The Bank Job

3. CIA - USA

Again no chance only third place, they had to be number one. Everyone knows they are the daddy of all agencies. Sorry again. But everyone knows CIA, as they are mentioned in every movie possible. They can’t be that damn covert. We all know that they exist.

CIA is the largest of the intelligence agencies and is responsible for gathering data from other countries that could impact U.S. policy. Agency (CIA) has three stated functions: 1) Obtaining and analyzing information about foreigners; 2) Propaganda and public relations; and, 3) Covert operations at the direction of the president
Highly funded and technologically most advanced Intelligence set-up in the world.

Despite the funding It has failed to control terrorism activities including 9/11, Not even a single top level Al-Qaeda leader captured own its own in the past 9 years – ‘they missed 1 Million’ Soviet troops marching into Afghanistan’. Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction, Have the found them yet? You might get better answer by watching Greenzone movie starring Matt Damon.
But no one knows that what CIA really does
Best Movies based on CIA:  Syriana (2005), Body of Lies(2008),Bourne Movies (Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum) ,The Good Shepherd(2008) AND Greenzone (2010)

2. Mossad - ISRAEL

The Mossad known in full as the Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations is the national intelligence agency of Israel. “Mossad” is a Hebrew word for institute or institution

Its responsible for intelligence collection, counter-terrorism and various covert operations. Its director reports directly to the head of state, the Prime Minister. Mossad is a civilian service, and does not use military ranks, although most of its staff have served in the Israeli defense forces as part of the country's compulsory draft system. Mossad's most notorious wing is the "Special Operations Division" or "Metsada," as it's also known. The Metsada has been involved in several assassinations, paramilitary operations, sabotage, and psychological warfare.

Mossad Operation in Dubai – part 1

Israel’s intelligence agency is most famous for having taken out a number of PLO operatives in retaliation for the attack that killed eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich.

Also In 1960, the Mossad discovered that Adolf Eichmann, a notorious Nazi war criminal, was living in Argentina under the name of Ricardo Klement. He was captured by a team of Mossad agents and smuggled in to Israel where he was tried and executed

Mossad Operation in Dubai – part2

Movies based on Mossad: Munich (2005), You don’t mess with Zohan (2008) and Walk on Water (2004)

Mossad Operation in Dubai – part3

1 ISI - PAKISTAN

Suprised....ISI, who are? Well I mentioned in the beginning that the best agency doesn’t attract attention
With the lengthiest track record of success, the best know Intelligence so far on the scale of records is ISI.
No double agents, no agent ever caught on camera, the lowest budget but still affective.
In war with 6 big intelligence agencies of the world. ISI has even countered MOSSAD in the 1980s and late ‘90s when there was a plan of a possible strike on Pakistan’s nukes
KGB, the best of its time, failed to counter ISI and protect Soviet interests in Central Asia
It has protected its nuclear weapons since formed and it has foiled Indian attempts to attain ultimate supremacy in the South-Asian theatres through internal destabilization of India.
The Inter-Services Intelligence was Established in 1948 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. for safeguarding Pakistan’s interest, monitoring opposition politician and sustaining military rule in Pakistan, ISI is one of the very well organized intelligence agency in world. Apart from its outstanding structure it is controversial too and once it was termed as state within a state due to its cross-purpose policies
Its is believed to have one of the highest number of agents worldwide, close to 10,000. Only CIA have more.
Best movies based on ISI- None. Honestly could not find any. Apologies.

I even struggled to find youtube video. But I have added the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDbGn4jTTGI

Anyway hope you have enjoyed reading the post as well watching the videos.

I couldnt make the blogs without your help. So please keep contributing, as Tesco Supermarket says 'Every Little help' counts.

Greatest Rappers of all time

So who is the greatest rapper when it comes delivering the lyrics? There have been hundreds and thousand of rappers that have come and gone. But there were handful who really made the difference.
This isn’t who has made the best video or just come with crap lyrics like I’ve got whores in different area code. This is about who was The Daddy in the Rap industry. If you are a fan of Kanye West or Lil Wayne you will be disappointed. This is about serious rapping. This about rappers who have made the impact through out the world. And rappers who were revolutionist.

This my Top 10:

10:
Dre
You may be surprised what is doing  dre in the top 10. Well Dre has been there with best from the start. With Pac and snoop dog to eminem and fiddy.
Dr. Dre, is an American record producer, rapper, record executive, and actor. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and a former co-owner and artist of Death Row Records, also having produced albums for and overseeing the careers of many rappers signed to those record labels, such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent. As a producer he is credited as a key figure in the popularization of West Coast G-funk, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats.

Dr. Dre began his career in music as a member of the World Class Wreckin' Cru and he later found fame with the influential gangsta rap group N.W.A with Eazy-E and Ice Cube which popularized the use of explicit lyrics in rap to detail the violence of street life. His 1992 solo debut, The Chronic, released under Death Row Records, led him to become one of the best-selling American performing artists of 1993 and to win a Grammy Award for the single "Let Me Ride". In 1996, he left Death Row to establish his own label, Aftermath Entertainment. Under that label, he produced a compilation album titled Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath in 1996, and released a solo album titled 2001 in 1999, for which he won the Grammy producer's award the next year.
During the 2000s, he focused his career on production for other artists, while occasionally contributing vocals to other artists' songs. Dr. Dre signed Eminem and 50 Cent to his record label in 1996 and 2003 respectively while contributing production on their albums. They have both gone on to become some of the biggest names in hip hop in the 2000s

9:
50 Cent (32 pence In English currency)
50 Cent: Curtis James Jackson III, a.k.a. 50 Cent, rose to fame after releasing Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Massacre. The first album has gone 8 times platinum and sold more than 15 millions copies across the world. The second album has gone 5 times platinum and sold over 11 million copies across the world. Although, he has had a rocky start to his life and career, 50 Cent will always be counted as one of those who know their music.

After releasing his album Guess Who's Back? in 2002, Jackson was discovered by rapper Eminem and signed to Interscope Records. With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre, who produced his first major commercial successes, Jackson became one of the world's highest selling rappers. In 2003, he founded the record label G-Unit Records, which signed several successful rappers such as Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo. 50 Cent was ranked as the 6th best artist of the 2000-2009 decade by Billboard magazine. The magazine also ranked him as the 4th Top male artist and as the 3rd Top rapper behind Eminem and Nelly   Jackson has engaged in feuds with other rappers including Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Cam'ron, Rick Ross, and former G-Unit members The Game and Young Buck

8:
Llcool j
Becoming the first artist ever signed to Def Jam, LL Cool J has held down the Hip Hop scene for 20 years now.  Releasing 11 gold and platinum albums, no other artist has been more consistent.  His landmark album "Mama Said Knock You Out" changed LL's persona and unleashed a rage in his rhymes that would continue for the next ten years.

Becoming an elder statesman for Hip Hop, LL cut out the profanity from his lyrics, a request his grandmother made before she died.  LL has endured many battles, most commonly with Kool Moe Dee.  As LL has proved, though he may never be beat in a battle, there is always room for the ladies.

7:
Shaun Carter (Jay-Z)

Better known by his stage name Jay-Z, is an American rapper and businessman. He is one of the most financially successful hip hop artists and entrepreneurs in America having had a net worth of over $450 million in 2010. He has sold approximately 50 million albums worldwide,  while receiving ten Grammy Awards for his musical work, and numerous additional nominations.
Jay-Z co-owns The 40/40 Club, is part-owner of the NBA's New Jersey Nets and is also the creator of the clothing line Rocawear. He is the former CEO of Def Jam Recordings, one of the three founders of Roc-A-Fella Records, and the founder of Roc Nation. As an artist, he holds the record for most number one albums by a solo artist on the Billboard 200. Jay-Z also has had four number ones on the Billboard Hot 100, one as lead artist.

He released his debut album Reasonable Doubt in the mid-90’s, and has since been nearly untouchable. It seems like everything Jay-Z touches sells, whether it be his albums or even his own clothing line. He has released one classic in Reasonable Doubt, and another possible one in The Blueprint. Most of his other albums are good aswell, with just a few exceptions that don’t even deserve to get mentioned in this. In 2003, Jay-Z supposedly ended his saga in rap with The Black Album, a hugely successful CD that bared not one, not two, but six chart topping singles. Sounds like a pretty good way to end a career. has been the most consistently excellent MC in the game, and it seems like he's at his apex every year. He is one of only a handful of MCs whose flow is so potent that his tongue can effortlessly glide over any track and still destroy a verse with line-for-line firepower.
Jay-Z will always be remembered as one of the icons of rap.

6:
Ice cube
He began his career as a member of C.I.A and later joined the rap group N.W.A. After leaving N.W.A in 1989, he built a successful solo career in music, and also as a writer, director, actor and producer in cinema

Ice Cube-  One of the founding fathers of Gangsta Rap, and part of one of the most influential rap groups of all-time.  NWA were the leaders of the Gangsta Rap movement and West Coast rap in the late 80′s.  Prior to the rise of NWA, the West Coast was never really respected in the rap game.  These guys gave real credibility to the “Left Coast.”  Ice Cube was the leader of the group.  Cube, was the lead rapper, and wrote the majority of the songs.  He even wrote the Eazy-E classic track “Boyz N Tha Hood.”  NWA never recovered after Cube departed.  Cube went on to be one of the most successful solo acts and released 9 solo records.  Cube would still land top five for his solo work in the early 90s. Jetting to New York after helping to define the West Coast sound, he got with the Bomb Squad and mixed the personal with the political in larger doses than had ever been witnessed in rap. Amerikka’s Most Wanted and Death Certificate are so devastating because Cube delivers his hood tales as his experience. Not saying, Although his last 5 albums were pretty horrible, his earlier work is not to be ignored!

5:
Nasir Jones
Nas burst onto the hip-hop scene in 1994 with perhaps the greatest rap album of all time 'illmatic.' Although only just over half an hour long, the raw and intelligent street poetry combined with the subtle yet vibrant production from some of New York's best producers' has left the album for ever engraved on the memories of hip-hop fans. Since then Nas career may have fluctuated somewhat, with subsequent albums not living up to his debut, but it is safe to say that since the turn of the millenium Nas has consolidated his position at the top of the hip-hop pyramid and as one of the greatest rappers of all time

Nas is the poet of true age, holding back nothing and rapping about everything. Even in a controversial battle against Jay-Z, he rose victorious overall. Nas needs no more introductions; he is one of the biggest contributors to modern-day hip-hop and a trademark rapper of the century, and that’s with one album alone.
He has great flows, rhymes, and the best lyrics I've ever consistantly heard from an artist. They are genuinely poetic and thought provoking, yet you can always understand him and the thoughts he's trying to convey. He has better versatality than any other rapper I've seen, and can use his raps to embody any type of emotion or thought.

4:
Eminem
Eminem is one of the most original rappers I've ever seen . He has the best vocal skills and quickness I've ever seen in a rapper, great rhymes, freestyling skills, charisma,, and definently uses emotion to fuel his lyrics
Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972), better known by his stage name Eminem, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Eminem quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his major-label debut album, The Slim Shady LP, which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. The following album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest-selling solo album in United States history. It brought Eminem increased popularity, including his own record label, Shady Records, and brought his group project, D12, to mainstream recognition.

He was spotted by rapper/producer Dr. Dre, who turned the Detroit native into a star. Eminems first appeared on the mainstream rap scene with the hit single My Name Is and was instantly turned into a star. His first major release, The Slim Shady LP is one of the most successful rap albums in recent history, but was topped by his own 2nd album, The Marshall Mathers LP. Eminem has totally changed his style over to appeal to an even wider audience. But rap fans simply can’t forget his golden days when he was at the top of the rap game.
He's one of the few rappers around today that makes songs that are not about money and parties and are still sucessful with the mainstream

3:
Notorious B.I.G

Even with only two albums released before his sudden death, he is noted to be one of the most influential rappers in history.

Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. Biggie Smalls He was raised in the poor Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant as the son of a preschool teacher. Dropping out of high school at the age of seventeen
When Wallace released his debut album Ready to Die in 1994, he became a central figure in the East Coast hip-hop scene and increased New York's visibility at a time when West Coast artists were more common in the mainstream. The following year, Wallace led his childhood friends to chart success through his protégé group, Junior M.A.F.I.A.. While recording his second album, Wallace was heavily involved in the East Coast/West Coast hip-hop feud, dominating the scene at the time.
On March 9, 1997, Wallace was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.

When you came up on stage and mess with him, he belts out poisonous single-line verses that would put Luda to shame. He would beat it out as if he wrote it before you even met, attaching simple words into a complex and witty verse no human can come up with in an hour, let alone in spur of the moment. For sure, Biggie left an indelible mark on the game. But is he really deserving of the title Greatest of All-Time? The answer is a no. Life After Death was a good album but it’s not the classic that everyone makes it out to be. Clearly, Diddy was already starting to corrupt Biggie’s gritty sound with chart-friendly R&B hooks, and this would’ve continued if Biggie had been fortunate enough to survive that shooting. Biggie brought such a deep level of cinematic detail to his rhymes that you couldn’t help but become hypnotized. That said, he was also more willing than any other MC of his era to kick party rhymes to the masses. Diddy might not have invented the remix, but in the form of Biggie Smalls, he invented the million-selling hardcore rap crossover

2:
RAKIM
You might suprisesd and think whats Rakim doing in second place surely the battle was between Tupac and Biggie. Wrong guys..Rakim is widely regarded as one of the most influential and most skilled mc's of all time due to his exceptional flow and complex lyrical craftsmanship. Eric B. & Rakim's classic album Paid In Full was named the greatest hip hop album of all time by MTV.
In addition to his career as a rap artist, he is a writer, and poet. Rakim's rapping, which pioneered the use of internal rhymes in hip hop, set a higher standard of lyricism in the genre and served as a template for future rappers. Rakim began his career as a emcee for part of one of the most important rap duos of the golden age hip hop era: Eric B. & Rakim.

People might say Tupac was the rapper that turned the whole game around, which is true to a certain extent. But while Pac made some changes to rap, Rakim revolutionized the game. He took hip-hop to another level.. Paid In Full. The album that changed it all. This album was 5-10 years ahead of its time when it dropped late in the 80’s. Although Rakim hasn’t gotten nearly as much respect as he deserves from the average rap fans, people who truly know the game realize what Rakim did for it. This guy wasn’t just years ahead of his time, he was light years ahead of it. He made the advanced lyrical genre of music we all know and love what it is currently, only without that J-Kwon and Chingy crap. He has been one of the most influential people in all kinds of music in recent history, and although most rap fans might state that Pac is untouchable on the list of the greatest, you just make sure to tell them what you’ve learned today. Rakim is hands down the greatest rhymer to ever touch the mic.

Rakim’s smooth delivery and lyrics made him one of the founders of the Hip-Hop genre.  He was a pioneer and took MCs to another level.  Social consciousness and the ability to rock the mic make him a Legend amongst Legends.  Although he has always been more of an underground artist, rappers still site him as one of the most influential rap artists of all-time.  Kool Mo Dee, MTV and Vibe Magazine list him as the greatest Rapper of All-Time.

1:
Tupac
Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper. Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. In the United States alone he has sold 37.5 million records. Rolling Stone Magazine named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time
In September 1996, Shakur was shot four times in the Las Vegas. He was taken to the University Medical Center, where he died of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest
More albums have been released and gone platinum after his death, than when he was alive. Through his words, you can hear his spirit and his passion for both his people and the direction they were headed. People of all colors respond to his music becomes he teaches hope.

Tupac gave the west coast the respect that it still has today. He gave rap the status that it has today; he was one of the main reasons that it became such a huge industry. His rhymes weren’t just about jewelry and women, they touched on nearly all objects from teen pregnancy to just having love for your mama.

He is the biggest icon in rap history. He is the epitome of all rap artists. He is the most widely respected rapper, possibly even musician, in the last 20 years. And yes, I am talking about Tupac Shakur. Tupac was simply phenomenal; there was no other rapper who could even come close to releasing the amount of brilliant work this man did. Although his life was tragically cut short, Pac is widely considered the best ever in his profession. He is still selling albums even after his demise, and even has whole new albums with his name on them being sold. This is just simply unheard of, nobody could still have new material being released and sold over 5 years after his or her death. Nobody except Tupac. Pac wasn’t just another rapper; he was at a whole different level than other MCs. Representing California to the fullest over the course of his life
Most rappers nowadays would be heard saying that 2Pac has had a big influence in their careers, eve n if he has been viewed as a public menace. Whether you believe in the Man or the Myth, Tupac’s status has gone beyond iconic to legendary

Top 10 biggest Sport Icons in the World

Welcome. Today I will be discussing who are the biggest sports Icon in the world. Not big icons in their villages, towns or country. I am talking about big sporting icons that are reconised and  well respected throught out the world.

This my Top 10:

10:

Brian Charles Lara
Brian Lara is undoubtedly one of the best batsmen of all time and certainly one of the best of the modern era.
He topped the Test batting rankings on several occasions and holds several cricketing records, holds the record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket, with 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994  that was only in only 428 balls by hitting 62 boundaries and 10 huge sixes, which is the only quintuple hundred in first-class cricket history

He Also holds the record of highest individual score in test cricket with 400 not out for Windies against England.
He is the only batsman to have ever scored a hundred, a double century, a triple century, a quadruple century and a quintuple century in first class games over the course of a senior career. Lara also holds the test record of scoring most number of runs in a single over in a Test match, when he scored 28 runs off an over by Robin Peterson of South Africa in 2003
At that Lara was smashing all the bowlers even the best. The hunger to score runs was there and he was playing some marvellous cricket at that time. It was not to easy to dismiss Brian Lara at that time, he was treating some very good and talented bowlers like an average bowler. He was full of self confidence at that time.
For his cricketing exploits, he remains an inspiration to many young cricketers, particularly batsmen, in Trinidad and Tobago.
Unlike Sachin Tendulkar, he can play all over the world with authority, whereas people consider Sachin as a very good player only of home soil.

9:

Jonah lomu
New Zealand rugby union footballer who has played 73 times (63 caps) as an All Black
He is generally regarded as the first true global superstar of rugby union. One of the sport's most intimidating players on the field, he has had a huge impact on the game
At 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in) Lomu is as tall as most locks, and at 119 kg (262 lb) is as heavy as most props. Despite his size (he was the All Blacks heaviest ever back), at his peak he was still able to run 100 metres in 10.89 seconds

At the height of his powers Jonah Lomu was by far the best and most famous rugby player in the world. His fame spread beyond only rugby supporters and he is considered one of the first real superstars of the sport

One of the sport's most intimidating players on the field, he has had a huge impact on the game. He was inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame on 9 October 2007.
Jonah turned down a multi-million dollar offer to play American football.

Jonah has a wax likeness of himself at Madame Tussauds in London.
Has his own Playstation game - "Jonah Lomu's Rugby"

8:

David Beckham
You might think David Beckham? He’s only good at two thing’s crossing the ball and taking a free kicks.
But Without doubt, England’ former captain David Beckham. He is the most searched for sports personality on the Internet and the most recognized non-politician in the world. Ask anyone in any football playing countries the world - i.e. 99.9% of countries - for their heroes, and Beckham comes close to the top especially in Asia
.

In addition to his success on the pitch, Beckham has been recognized by Time magazine as one of the Time 100 (Heroes & Icons) and has received many other accolades for his charitable work and leadership off the pitch. He was given the "Britain's Greatest Ambassador" award in May 2007. Most recent on sports BBC’s sports personality of the year David Beckham won life time award which was presented by his former team mate Ryan Giggs. Who I thought was a better player and deserved the award more then Beckham did.
In the early 2000's, Beckham was the world's highest-paid player, and is today well-known as an elite global advertising brand.

7:

Roger Federer
Roger Federer is he the greatest Tennis player the world has seen? I think so. Is he better then Pete Sampras? A tough one to answer.  I say yes, he was a better tennis player then Sampras and better then other players. If you remember which player knocked Sampras in Wimbledon  2001 when Sampras was going for his fifth straight title which would have equalled Bjorn Borg's record, was silenced in a five-set thriller by a composed teenager with a tantalising array of shots Roger Federer.

He simply has the most complete game the world has ever seen. Where Pete Sampras had a weak backhand, Federer’s subtle flick of the wrist is one of the delights of world tennis. Where Bjorn Borg burnt out, Federer’s career is long-lived. Where Agassi would scuttle back to the baseline Federer is equally imperious at the net as he is from the back of the court.

Roger Federer is undoubtedly the most consistent and talented sportsman of the last decade. He has reached an incredible 22 consecutive grand slam finals, spanning five years, and has won an unprecedented 15 grand slams.
But more than his shot making, it is his mental strength that places him on a different playing field from others.
Roger Federer’s dominance of the men’s tennis scene since 2003 has been unprecedented. He’s just the sixth player to notch a career Grand Slam and no player has won more Slams than he has.

6:

Michael Jordan
In my eyes, Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time. There are many other people that would agree with me, even if they don’t like the Chicago Bulls or even Jordan himself, just because his achievements demand respect. Very few people have even come close to greatness the way Michael Jordan has, and few ever will. He is a major part of the NBA’s history. He has left a legacy that started before my time and will last long after.
Michael Jordan is an American icon in a multitude of ways, but above all he speaks as a cultural icon with his amazing, all-around, graceful, improvisational and lightning quick skills on the basketball court.
Jordan can score from the perimeter and inside of the paint. He can handle the ball, and most importantly, he can play defence.

Jordan's individual accolades and accomplishments include five MVP awards, ten All-NBA First Team designations, nine All-Defensive First Team honours, fourteen NBA All-Star Game appearances, three All-Star Game MVP awards, ten scoring titles, three steals titles, six NBA Finals MVP awards, and the 1988 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. He holds the NBA records for highest career regular season scoring average (30.12 points per game) and highest career playoff scoring average (33.45 points per game). In 1999, he was named the greatest North American athlete of the 20th century by ESPN, and was second to Babe Ruth on the Associated Press's list of athletes of the century
Jordan is also noted for his product endorsements. He fuelled the success of Nike's Air Jordan trainers, which were introduced in 1985 and remain popular today. Jordan also starred in the 1996 feature film Space Jam as himself. He is the majority owner and head of basketball operations for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats; he recently won a bidding war to buy controlling interest in the team from founding owner Robert L. Johnson.
Michael Jordan has captured the hearts and minds of black and white America as a basketball player who symbolizes the American Dream and has become a true American icon. With his distinctive style of play, he has dominated the NBA since his rookie year and been deemed the greatest basketball player of all time by publications and broadcasts from Sports Illustrated to ESPN SportsCenter.
There have been many great players come in NBA Since Jordan has retired. Kobe Byant, lebron and Iverson. But none of them can match Michael Jordan charisma, drive and magic when needed.

Usain Bolt
There have been some great sprinters such as Carl Lewis, Linford Christie, Maurice Green and Asafa Powell. But now we have the one. Usain Bolt is the fastest man on the planet and a sportsman like no other. Bolt now surpassed Michael Johnson as the best athlete off all time. He has beaten Michael Johnson's 200m world record and smashed his own world record.

The Jamaican sprinter’s performance at the Beijing Games was one of the most remarkable in history. It was there that he set the Olympic and world records for the 100 metres at 9.69 seconds (even though he slowed down at the finish to celebrate), the 200 metres at 19.30 seconds, and also the world record for the 4x100 relay, making him the first man to win all three events at a single Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984, and the first man in history to set world records in all three at a single Olympics. That he set these records without seemingly trying makes it all the more unbelievable.
The first sport to interest him was cricket and he said if he was not a sprinter he would be a fast bowler instead  As a child he was a supporter of Pakistan and admired the bowling of Waqar Younis. He is also a fan of Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, West Indian opener Chris Gayle and Australian opener Matthew Hayden. Bolt has also expressed his love for football and is a fan of Manchester United

Michael Schumacher
This was a difficult one to choose. It was either Michael Schumacher or Ayton Senna. This blog is about greatest sport icons in the world. In that sense it has to be the Red Barron Scheuy. Senna was one of the greats but Schumacher was the greatest record-breaker in the history of sport. You name it, he achieved it. Senna was the complete driver: brave, fast, skilful, exciting and daring. We will never know whether Senna would have overcome Schumacher in what could have been one of the most fascinating battles in the history of Formula One.

Although controversies about collisions will perhaps tarnish his legacy, the record seven-time Formula One world drivers’ champion is regarded as the best F1 driver in history. Not only is he credited with helping to turn Ferrari into the team it is today, but he is the only F1 driver to have an entire season of podium finishes, an achievement he accomplished in 2002.
His unprecedented five Formula One championships in a row (2000-04) made him arguably Europe's most famous athlete. (In '04, Schumacher hauled in about $80 million from endorsements, second only to Tiger.) In 2002, he won 11 of 17 races during a season in which he never finished lower than third, and in '04 set the F1 single-season mark of 13 wins, all while rules and technologies were changed for the sake of a little parity as well as safety.

Tiger Woods
The number of people interested in golf, as a sport or as a recreation, is drastically increasing. Golf used to be known as a boring sport that was played by snobby rich old people with silly checked sweaters and hats. Not anymore Tiger Woods has changed the image of the Golf.  He made the sport seem "cool" Tiger Woods is the reason why so many people watch golf when he’s playing and not watch when he isn’t. Tiger has been a big influence on kids, adults and fellow pro players. He has changed the way pga players now train to play golf. All pga players today have a personal trainer which was not the case before Tiger.

His achievements to date rank him among the most successful golfers of all time. Formerly the World No. 1, he is the highest-paid professional athlete in the world, according to Forbes, Woods is the first athlete to earn a cool billion in winnings and endorsements, although his public image has taken a huge hit with a flood of revelations about his infidelity.
In a sport where he competes against the world's best, Tiger Woods has proven he is the best of the best .Woods won the 2008 U.S. Open in a 91-hole marathon over Rocco Mediate while playing on a double-stress-fractured left leg and with a torn ligament in his knee that subsequently required surgery and eight months of recovery.
Tiger already holds most of the records that matter and he is only in his 30s. Tiger Woods is the most talented golfer ever to play the game. The golfer is looked up to as a role model of hard work and determination. He is also into a charity helping the underprivileged who dream to become the best golf players someday.
The best golf player there will ever be, even with all this scandals and what not. Wood wins absolutely every tournament

Diego Maradona
This was between Diego and Pele. Of course Pele was a great player. But Diego was better then Pele. Diego Maradona was never surrounded by great players when he played for Argentina. Pele did throughout his career for Brazil. For example there were number of decent of players in the team of 58 such. In 1962 when Brazil won their 2nd world cup, it was Garrincha that was the player of the tournament. In 1970 again they had talented team.
For club sides Pele never played in Europe. Maradona played in the two of the toughest league of Spain and Italy.

Diego Maradona won the 1986 World Cup almost single-handedly. He will always be remembered for his unbelievable performance at the 1986 edition of the competition. His two goals against England in the quarterfinals included the infamous "Hand of God" goal and one of the best World Cup feats of all time, as he left five English players in his wake to score single-handedly. Argentina would go on to win the competition thanks to Maradona. He also had a tremendous club football career, for Boca Juniors, Barcelona and in particular, Napoli. It was at Napoli that he elevated the team to the most successful era in their history. Led by Maradona, Napoli won their only Serie A Italian Championships in 86/87 and then in 89/90. They also came second in 87/88 and 88/89, as well as winning the Coppa Italia in 87, the UEFA Cup in 89 and the Italian Super cup in 90. Also Maradona was the top scorer in Serie A in 87/88.
Maradona's main strength was his incredible technique, which allowed him to move the ball with pin-point accuracy. Maradona was voted best player of all time in an internet poll held by FIFA, much to the chagrin of Pele-fans, who contended that such a poll was bound to attract voters who had never seen Pele play.
Since his retirement from football, Maradona's life has been marred by drugs abuse and health issue.
Arguably, football's greatest ever talent also remains one of the sport's most controversial players
Football remains a team sport, but Maradona seems an exception to that maxim.

Mohammed Ali
Possibly the greatest of them all. Ali wowed fans in the boxing ring with his great hand speed, quick feet and taunting tactics. Undoubtedly the most coveted fighter in boxing history Ali entertained fans out of the ring also with his controversial beliefs, amazing confidence and famous sayings

Ali is not just known as the greatest boxer to have lived, he is also considered one of the greatest sportsmen of all time – in 1999 Ali was named “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated magazine. The boxer defeated almost every top heavyweight in his era, and was named “Fighter of the Year” by Ring Magazine more times than any other boxer.
Muhammad Ali was electrifying. Ali was an exciting, outspoken, undefeated boxing phenomenon in his prime. He fought in some of the most interesting fights in boxing history. If you look at who he fought; Ken Norton (2x), Sonny Liston (2x), George Foreman, Leon Spinks and Joe Frazier. His class was a tough one.
His first professional achievement happened in 1960, when he defeated Tunney Hunsaker. During the period between 1960-1963, Muhammad Ali had a record breaking winning spree by defeating pros such as Tony Esperti, Jim Robinson, Alonzo Johnson, Doug Jones etc. In 1964, Ali defeated Sonny Liston and won the Heavyweight Champion of the World title. It is also said that Ali, disgusted with incidents of racism, chucked his Olympic medal into a river as a way of protest and opted for Islam religion.

Ali refused to serve in the U.S. military during the war in Vietnam; his title was revoked and he was sentenced to five years in prison for draft evasion. (The U.S. Supreme Court reversed the conviction in 1971.) He had a long-running rivalry with fellow heavyweight Joe Frazier, whom he fought three times: Ali lost the first match in 1971, but won rematches in 1974 and 1975. Ali also defeated George Foreman in the famous 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" held in Kinshasa, Zaire. Ali retired from boxing in 1981, but in the decades since has remained one of the world's best-known athletes
He was also known for his pre-match hype, where he would 'trash talk' opponents on television and in person some time before the match, often with rhymes. These personality quips, idioms along with an unorthodox fighting technique made him a cultural icon. In later life, Ali developed Parkinson's disease due to the injuries he sustained throughout his career. In 1999, Ali was crowned "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Illustrated and "Sports Personality of the Century" by the BBC.
